Luke Frey
Luke Frey
Luke Frey is a notable figure in the world of biodynamic agriculture, particularly through his work with Frey Vineyards, the first certified organic and biodynamic winery in America. He is internationally recognized for his expertise in crafting high quality biodynamic preparations, which are essential for maintaining the overall health of the vineyard ecosystem. These preparations are applied to the vineyard to enhance the health and productivity of the soil, which is a core principle of biodynamic farming. He views the farm as a self-sustaining organism and works to meet the needs of the farm from within the farm.
In addition to his contributions to biodynamic agriculture, Luke played a crucial role in the recovery efforts following the devastating fire that affected Frey Vineyards in 2017. He lost all of his stored biodynamic preparations but has been actively working to recreate them. Luke’s work at Frey Vineyards highlights a commitment to sustainable and organic agricultural practices, contributing significantly to the vineyard’s reputation and success in producing high-quality wines.
